Installation
Goal: The app is installed in your store and opens in the Shopify admin.
Time: about 2 minutes.
Requirement: to show the widget on your product pages, your store needs an Online Store 2.0 theme that supports app blocks, such as Shopify’s free themes. Older (“vintage”) themes are not supported. See Widget Setup.
Install from the Shopify App Store
- In your Shopify admin go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- Click Shopify App Store.
- Search for GPSR Compliance Manager.
- Click Install.
- Review the requested permissions and confirm.
After installing, the app opens inside your Shopify admin. The app creates the metafield and metaobject definitions it needs automatically; there is nothing to configure.
Optional: theme access
The app can check your theme to tell you whether the widget is installed and whether your theme supports app blocks. This needs an optional permission that Shopify asks you to approve separately. Until you grant it, the dashboard shows Permission Required.
- Without it, the app works as usual. You only lose the automatic checks on the dashboard, the Widget setup page and the guarantee setup check.
- To grant it, click Grant Theme Access wherever the app offers it and approve the prompt.
Where is my data stored?
Your compliance data is stored in Shopify metafields and metaobjects owned by the app, inside your own store. If the app reports missing definitions, see Troubleshooting.
